The journey began when I was 15, during a summer holiday. I kindled a passion for coding as I wrote my first lines of HTML, CSS and Javascript.
My interest in coding became so strong that I decided to forgo a career in which I had studied (Economics & Politics), to pursue web development full-time. I completed over 25 online courses related to web development in that first year.
I have developed to an extent where I am confident in building any web app. I have completed numerous freelance projects and look to keep building from there.
After graduating from the University of Edinburgh with a degree in Economics and Politics, I chose to dive into the intricacies of web development. I decided to get outside my comfort zone by living in a new country every couple of months, while I completed over 25 paid courses that year alone. My skills had vastly improved come the end of the year, but the only thing I was missing was the experience to match these new skills I had developed.
I decided to opt for freelance work as it was something I could do remotely, ranging from bug fixes to full-scale web apps. I learned the other side of the job, such as working with other developers and being able to communicate with clients, which has helped shape me into a more well-rounded developer. I have now returned to the UK and am looking for the next step in my journey as a web developer.
